Probate In Pennsylvania: What To Know
In our state, not everyone’s estate has to pass through probate. Pennsylvania requires probate only if the deceased person owned probate assets, or assets owned solely by the decedent that do not have a beneficiary assigned to them. Estates worth less than $50,000 can go through a simpler type of probate in which only the executor, not the court, handles estate administration. However, estates with probate assets or assets worth more than $50,000 must go through standard probate proceedings.
